Farragut State Park is home to 4,000 acres of pristine Idaho wilderness with over 40 miles of trails to explore by foot, bike, skis or snowshoe. Drink in outstanding views of Lake Pend Oreille, bike among towering pine trees or enjoy a lakeside hike.

Before it was a park, the area was used as a WWII-era naval training station. Now, visitors can tour the Museum at the Brig, located in the former confinement facility at the Farragut Naval Training Station.

Things to Know

Start your visit to Farragut State Park at the visitor center located at the west entrance.
The park has over 40 miles of trails for you to explore. For those who like a challenge, take the Highpoint Trail to the Scout Trail and hike up Bernard Peak and look back across the lake at Farragut State Park.
A park naturalist is on staff during the summer, providing trail hikes as well as Junior Ranger and evening campfire programs.
Eagle Boat Launch provides the only major access for boaters on the south end of Lake Pend Oreille, the largest lake in Idaho.
