Ponderosa State Park is situated on a peninsula that extends into the gorgeous Payette Lake. The park offers camping, extensive hiking and biking trails, guided walks with park naturalists and evening campfire programs. Wildlife in the park is plentiful with frequent sightings of Canadian geese, bald eagles, beavers and more.

When the snow falls, the park becomes a premium Nordic ski area that’s packed with groomed trails open for both cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

  • Ponderosa State Park covers most of a 1,000-acre peninsula that juts into beautiful Payette Lake near McCall.
  • The entrance fee to all of Idaho’s State Parks is $7.00 per car, with additional fees for camping.
  • Every kind of overnight experience imaginable with a variety of standard and serviced campsites, or cabins for small or large groups.
  • All campgrounds within Ponderosa State Park are closed for winter.
